For $199.00 this broken down radio can belong to you. I found this in an antique shop in Knoxville, Tennessee. The radio was not complete and was in overall bad shape. No I did not buy it!!

Are you kidding? That is a Dorland Ambos designed cabinet with Ivory Tusk knobs and the unusual battery flibber-flobber!

You could buy it and get half your money back! Run! get it! :D

Thats really funny. I had two of this model in similar condition. Maybe enough parts between them to make one
radio. I took them to Lansing radio show about 5 years ago and someone did give me 10 bucks for the PAIR of
them. I was happy and so was the buyer.

Yeah for the most part this is pretty normal for the antique and second hand stores we have here in East Tennessee. I have seen junk going for high dollar like this Zenith radio. Sometimes I need a good laugh and this one gave me plenty of that.

FORGET those crappy antique malls !

Anyone south of Ohio or west of Illinois should really try to get up to the Michigan summer Vintage Electronics Expo in Kalamazoo July 13-14. Radios like that are typically found for sale in the flea market or in the Bargain Auction at the end of the show for well under $20. Here is some pix of the BA at last year's show, and an overview of the flea market. There are so many more vintage radios and stuff in the Midwest and east !

Also, watch this video for a one hour tour of the show, table by table. He stops at my table where the VEE shirts are on sale.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_rrRR9v-bw&t=807s Just $5 to enter the show, its $25 for full registration for non MARC members. Lots of hotels near the show, last years info is on the site, new info coming soon http://www.thevee.org Notice how much fun the live shows are. Any questions, email me *****

Also, there is a great vintage car museum called the Gilmore Museum nearby the show, its open later in summer...and the Gibson Guitar museum or factory is near there too I think.

Plan your trip, buy up a lot of projects cheap !

More stuff overall, plus its a 2 day show and vendors come from a wider field. Also there are seminars and a main auction, a social evening fri nite (good fun). The bargain auction at the end of this event is larger too.
One thing so far is fewer newbies at this event. We are working on doing more publicity on the show in the Kzoo, Battle Creek and Grand Rapids areas to help generate more of the casual collectors or curious general public.

Now that looks like a really tasty array of goodies that would be irresistible. And I would have to buy that barn to have a place to put them!

The first pix are of the Bargain Auction, the last one is from the other end of the flea market so the stuff you see near field there is not in the BA.
At the BA, we move pretty fast auctioning stuff. Its "Choice of the table" bids, so winning bidder can take as many items or box lots each at his price. Most first round top bids are under $10. Most of the time one or two items go off, then we do it again, and typically the price is lower and more stuff goes, we do this usually 3-4 times then ask for a "all remaining items" bid. If none is offered, everything left on the table is FREE.

When we were at our Lansing location, we actually were paying $400 to have a dumpster brought in. I thought we could do way better and ran a Craigslist Ad and got haulers to come for $100. I shot a pix of the guy pulling away... this was in 2009. His trailer was all beat up, he was going to burn the wood and scrap the metal.
We havent had so many consoles and larger stuff in recent years so we've been able to pitch stuff in the Expo Center's dumpster if needed.
