I recently picked up this Nordmende Turandot model radio. Found a schematic on radiomuseum but it is in German and poor quality. Does anyone know if this is also available in English or perhaps Sams made a Photofact for these foreign units as well?

Todd, Sams published a whole bunch of Nordmende photofacts.
https://www.samswebsite.com/en/photofac ... h&s=Search

What does the back panel say?
or... look for a chassis number (paper label, e.g. 2/614).

German schematics take a bit of getting used to. Chassis connections are shown as little bars and the capacitors tend to have different sized bars each end. At first it can be a bit daunting but generally the circuits follow the same norms as any other tube radio.
I did find it helpful to sometimes search translations for German words such as "drossel".
Another useful idea might be to find a similar radio (such as a Bush) and use one diagram to help clarify the other.

Greg I will look again but on first inspection I saw nothing but Turnadot on the back.

From the pictures etc I looked at it seems to be the one you linked to the Sams in your post. Only problem is radiomuseum does not have the full Sams for it on the site...only the title page. LOL

Anyone have Sams photofact 632 folder 7 scanned they could email me? I think that is the one...

Thanks!
T

Folder-636 Set-7 is for model Turandot US chassis-2/614
$8 ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sams-Photofact ... Sw7U5Y~iLh

the 1961 Folder-525 Set-8 is for model Turandot.
Steve has 525-8 for $7 (pdf in... one - two Business days).
https://theschematicman.com/downloads.htm

As your set appears to have UKW (ultrakurzwellen) the German abbreviation for VHF (very high frequency) 30 - 300 MHz
with, as you know... :) .the FM band within the 88 - 108 MHz portion.
It's probably the plain vanilla model Turandot.

Greg.

Edit: Check-out these pretty pictures and schematic for Nordmende Turandot 59
http://www.rmrl.de/radios/50/58_59/nord ... ran_59.htm

oh...
TA (tonabnehmer) selects turntable aka phono via 5 pin DIN connector.
TB (tonband) selects tape recorder via 5 pin DIN connector.

Yes, sorry to say I am too much of a tightwad to pay those online services for a photofact. That is more then I paid for the radio!

The photofacts for German radios can be anywhere up to 12 pages.
not too many good-buddies willing to scan that many pages (at the proper resolution) for free...

Not only is Steve a forum sponsor, he's a good guy!

$7.00... :) Buy less Geetar strings. Lol

I have a radio group I meet here on wednesdays. Two of the guys have basically complete sets up through 70s. I can borrow from them but just have to wait for it until wednesday and then sometimes they forget. LOL Next thing you know it is a month down the road and I have lost interest in the radio...LOL! So I always ask on here. Lotsa good sharing going on here. I don't think I have ever had to buy a Sams yet and likewise share what I have when I have it.

I will keep looking if not when I get it from the old man I will scan and post it up here for future folks in need.

Sams 525-8 is for chassis U-148
I've added a photofact cover page image to the
or... look for a chassis number (paper label, e.g. 2/614) link above.
