Hi
Stromberg Carlson information can be found here:
http://www.nostalgiaair.org/Resources/399/T0000399.htm
Stromberg Carlson was formed in 1894 for production of telephone equipment. They began to make radio parts and by 1923 were producing radios. Stromberg Carlson was known for high quality radios. (From Collectors Guide to Antique Radios)
------------------
Norm

I have one of these half round Stromberg Carlson chairside radios too. They're pretty neat, however the mirror tops often got broken.
You can find some information on it in Mark Steins' book on Pre-War Consoles ( www.radiomania.com ). Also, there are many sites on the net that include this radio, including:
www.Radioattic.com

HTH:

------------------
Larry Hare

I have a 231-R that is 7 tubes if I remember correctly. I guess it is probably the same cabinet. The 240 series should be an 11 tube set. If you have a large library it is in the Rider Perpetual Troubleshooters vol.# 9, Stromberg Carlson page 9-19.
------------------
