I just finished up my 8G005. I’ve done a few of the G’s,H’s and 600 series and this was the hardest one of all. They truly put 7lbs of parts in a 5lb chassis, but I’m not here for that.
This radio had the most complete Property Label I have seen yet. Crappy looking, but most of it was there. I decided to see if I could clean it up with PhotoShop. A lot of work, but I think it came out nice. It’s the exact size as the original and I got 18 labels per page. It’s setup to fit on an Avery 2 part-shipping label. Cut them up, peel off the back, and it sticks on the inside back door or where ever you want to put it. Now if I could only find one of those that have the tube layout. For some reason they all have to much missing to even attempt.

Thought I would share this with you.
Freeman.

Do you have the 8G005Y with the 117Z6GT rectifier or the 8G005YTZ1 with the 117Z3 rectifier? I may be able to help you out with the tube layout label but there would be variations with the tube changes naturally.

Hi Hcompton79. Actually I have both. I bought the 8G005Y first. The case was in bad shape, but I figured I could recover it. 6 days later I found and bought #2 who's case was in good shape and it was cheaper. That one turned out to be 8G005YTZ1. The crazy part is the 5YTZ1 (Newer Version) had a lot of crumbling wire where as the older version had none. Sorry--I ramble on sometimes.

I will gladly take what ever you have.
Freeman.

Perfect. In very good shape. I might be able to modify it for each model.
PM sent.
If anyone has any other labels, I'd love to see them.

Freeman.

Now that one is perfect. To bad it's not in color. Where did you find it?

Thanks for busting my bubble. It took me almost 2 days to finger out how to do it and get it done. I really thought I had come up with something. Didn't know there were so many good ones out there. Oh well. Maybe Hcompton will send me the tube layout label. Those are harder to find. I think!!!

I had fun doing it.

No I didn't. I just rechecked and nothing. It may have gone to spam in AOL. Not there, but spam only goes back 2 weeks. Try it again and I'll check everything.

It came through fine this time. I'll try playing with it this weekend.

Thanks
Freeman.

I finished up the tube label Hcompton sent me this afternoon. I had a colon checkup this morning, so had time yesterday and this afternoon. A lot of work working around all the patient numbers because they’re so small. It came out nice and clean though. I was able to change the rectifier number for each model, so it will work for the 2 different models I own. Their size is 3X4 like the originals.
I’m wondering now. Does it look normal for a 70-year-old radio today?? Most of the ones we see look like they came out of a heavy smokers home. I checked my other radios and only found 2 that have an almost white background. There pretty torn up though. We all try to make our projects look like the day they came home from the store. Some of you are artist at that. So wouldn’t a new looking label be correct. I’m sitting on the fence on this one. I think they look cool, but I’m not sure they look like what we normally see.
I would appreciate your opinion.

Oh—If anyone wants a copy, I can Email it to you. Done in PhotoShop, so rather large.

Freeman.
