Here's your chance for a fine set. Its only $1000 on Craigslist. I don't know the owner.

Damn good price, for a very clean example of this radio.

Darn, I was hoping it was in Pittsburg, California. Someone needs to run, not walk, to that radio. $1000 for a 37-690 is an absolute steal.

VERY heavy. Solid wood cabinet, two heavy wood doors, two large chassis, a woofer, two 6-inch tweeters, and 4 8-inch acoustic clarifiers.

In my opinion, the best product Philco ever created.

These weigh about 185 lbs.

Has 2 chassis, and the 3 speakers are hard wired together with pins so you have to be careful unhooking the tweeters from the big woofer. There are 4 clarifiers but they are not hooked up to anything except the cabinet.

There is a large wood cone defuser that points into the middle of the woofer so you need to be very careful removing the big speaker so you don't ruin the cone in it. The cabinet work on these are stunning when nice shape. The 2 doors fold all the way to the sides out of site when opened.

So it's a first floor radio not to be carried by myself

It's worth the effort to own this. You won't lose money at that price.

Find a helper, and grab it!

Definitely. Also, make sure that the top chassis is secured. On the 38-690 it just rests on the top shelf and held in place by side supports. It is not screwed down. I don't know if the 37-690 is set up that way.

Somebody's got to help this poor fellow out. He's already lost his shirt!

That bread board has been for sale for about a year,
I don't see it selling anytime soon,

Oh I paid, I had to put it in the van by myself,
They sure made them heavy.
It has already been recapped and plays real well except for scratchy controls.
For the time being it's in the van until I get some good help moving the heavyweight out and into the house.

Absolutely gorgeous! I can just see that set in the parlor of some affluent family in it's day. It must be a joy to listen to. Enjoy your great find!!

Wow, that's *really* a steal if it's been recapped. I don't think I'd take on that job even for $1000.
