The ad is lacking, but the machine certainly is not. It looks like it was refinished on the outside at some point, but otherwise the condition seems good. Looks like one of the earlier models before they added the support bracket to the tonearm, though not one of the earliest, because it does have 4 doors instead of 2, and the platter is on the right rather than centered.

Talk the guy down to a more appropriate $400-$500, and this should be a really nice performer for someone.

That's cheap for out here, usually you see crummy beat up Phonographs with missing parts sitting in Anti-Q stores for that much money.

Key word: "sitting."

I got my VV 8-30 for about $400 with its original finish, but it needed an additional $200 in parts. I'd say one in good original condition, ready to play, is maybe a $700-$800 machine. Problems (depending on what's wrong) drop it into the $350-$500 range.
