At least I think it's a superhet. Has a Silver Marshell 440 Time Signal Amplifier inside - used, I believe, as an I.F. amp to get around RCA's patents. Panel looks like it has factory engraving, but I can't make it out - maybe some kind of kit. The three dials are a little confusing but the right one's label is oscillator, I believe. If you're close, worth checking out.

I'm pretty sure there are three knobs that were not part of the original layout. I can't say the same thing for the two switches or the two meter holes.

A closer example of what the set must have originally looked like.

That is my type of radio! Looks like a typical 8 tube superhet with the addition of a extra tuned RF stage in the front end, making it a 9 tube superhet with three tuning controls. Probably built in 1928. Looks like it has baked in the California desert for 90 years. I don't have much room for more superhets, but I'd snatch that one up real fast if I was closer!

I sure wish I was closer, I'd have bought it at $100.

I know most guys cringe at doing this, but I'm not too far from this radio. Once it's paid for, if the seller will bring it to Fresno or Sanger (it's a 45 minute drive for me to get it each way, where it's at, so too far) I can ship it. Just pay the shipping bill. I have good boxes and know how to pack like it's important. My Christmas present to the buyer.....
