Perhaps I missed something but the Ebay listing states that it is a western electric brand.

label a cinder block "western electric" brand and put it on ebay.

it will sell for $900 instead of $2.49.

It appears to be a badly hacked RCA theater amp. There's nothing on the amp that says WE. Seller admits that "Any help identifying this amplifier and be greatly appreciated." He knows "WE" attracts hits.

The tag says United Transformer Corporation, with the UTC logo. That's an odd way to spell Western Electric.

I look at the ebay vintage amps listings all the time and it's crazy the amount of BS thrown around by people trying to use the WE name to sell stuff. Here's a perfect exampe: A power supply from a Sparton radio. Buyer calls it a "WESTERN ELECTRIC era AMPLIFIER."
What a crock.

If that's too pricey for you, how about some Western Electric wire? This stuff looks like it'll hold up just fine in your next restoration project. Scary part is five have sold!

There's a sucker born every minute.
