When I saw this Silvertone 4788 listed for $10, I almost had a heart attack.

My wife instantly declared it a basket case. On closer look, I hate to admit she's right. :o

Grab it. Then get another and make one good one out of two, or part it out. You can easily get multiples of your money back.

Doesn't look undoable at all! I'd go for it. Think of it as a long-range project and if you are never able to restore, at least you're only in 10 bucks.

Still... A 14-tube radio for $10... so tempting![/quot Far from a basketcase, speakers would be the hardest part for that restration, i would jump on that hard to find model. Look at the transformation of this silvertone that was far worst condition.
