The 812 is the export chassis version of the 811. They are identical in appearance. I believe this one has been refinished as it is too light and the knobs have no colors on the skirt for different bands. I have collected all the 1935 Zenith table models including a 1117 tombstone with record player in the top. There is no accounting for taste, but my least favorite one is the 829. I think the cabinet is plain and it is very cheaply made. Without the chrome front nobody would give it a look. I have an 835 and a 935 but my favorite cabinets are the 811/812 and the 809. Jeff

That 835 and 1117 are stunning. In my earlier post I said about the 812 "I always thought it was kind of a strange
and ugly looking radio". I was just being emphatic when I used the word ugly. I don't really think its ugly, just strange
looking-not my cup of tea. Hope I didn't offend anyone too much.
