More crazy bidding ...... What kind of Yo-Yo's get into a bidding war on day one of a seven day auction? The most I've ever seen one of these go for is a little over a thousand dollars. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ANTIQUE-1920-s- ... rk:36:pf:0

I dunno ... if someone can afford it ... and they want it ... what the heck? Life is for living.

That's why I only do "buy it now" auctions. If I like the price, I buy it....nice and simple

Tipping your hand and bidding early in the auction just drives up the price, dumb move, which the seller loves I'm sure.

Greg. oh... he shops at thelampstore ... s***0 must have hit the lottery between auctions. He was only willing to bid $260 the first time, but now he's bid $1500 on the first day of this one. BTW, aren't most of these AK lampshades reproductions? Bob

Shade is repro. that's stated in the ad; they obviously look way to clean to be new. Not sure about the lamp from photos, might be original.

Shades are almost always replica and are still being made, can't remember the name of the guy who's making them. Real shades have a much darker background around the lettering, probably due to age.

This seller has been discussed before. He is trying to duplicate Fogel including his shill bidders... He consistently relists radios that "sold" I met him at the local Milwaukee meet 2 meers ago, he bought a couple radios from me and wanted to deal on the price. I told him no as I see what he does on Ebay and I think that it's wrong. He was at the last show and avoided my table. All good.

Don Patterson is the gentleman who was making reproduction shades earlier this year at $350 each (including shipping).

Many of his sold radios are back up for sale. In the early 2000s ebay would have been all over this guy, and would have shut him down in a matter of hours.
Nowadays you have to provide a whole lot of evidence before they act, and you might have to keep reminding them.
Result - he pops up with another account a few days later!
Greed is a terrible thing.

I wonder how many of those owl radios he has? Looks like he's sold about five of them since the end of September. Really got deja-vu scrolling through his sold listings. Saw about four repro Sparton Bluebirds, and about the same number of the 70s era spaceship radio, too. Perhaps he has a time machine and goes back and buys more...
