I recently purchased a Talking House 5 and am quit pleased with its audio quality. The question I have is what is a good external antenna to use? I'm not looking to increase my range, that would be ok, however, my main goal is to keep the RF away from the immediate area around the transmitter and my audio sources.

Just looking for a few suggestions.

Really?

A "good antenna" will do just that- increase your range, which is governed by part 15.2XX emission rules...this may help (see attached links) explain the FCC's intent. You are limited to 3 meters total, radiator and 'ground' combined, as I understand it. If you need to move the radiator away from other devices, I would imagine that a coax feedline to a 'radiator' located elsewhere would not be effective nor legal, as the entire coax shield would then be in effect a part of the radiator/ground design as well.

With a short antenna, good matching makes all the difference. Here's a simple ckt tuned to 1540 Khz

Capacitors are variable, coil is ferrite toroid (for self shielding).
