Rumor has it these may have made their way into the U.S. via the PX (post exchange, U.S. army retail store).

If... service information exists at all, it will be for individual components, i.e. tuner, changer, and reel to reel.

See if you can find a model number for the tuner, though, you more than likely will have to wing it without a schematic.

Greg.

Edit: here is the advert from the link above which mentions the PX... :)

I was part of that earlier thread, and out of 200+ SE-series microfiche manuals, no SE-9000. Are there individual model numbers on the receiver, TT, and deck? Some of the AAFEES stuff was like that - and supported by individual manuals rather than a system manual.

My Panasonic/MESCO (Matsushita Engineering Services Company) index shows no SE-9000 either, or with any suffix.. It goes from 1971 to 1983, so it would list it if a manual existed (at least on microfiche)

I'm not your last hope - there are servicers near the large military bases in Japan and Okinawa that might be able to help, but I can't - and have no where to "steer" you for the info. 15 years ago, I had an "in" with the contractor that had the contract for NEX/Asia, but no more. Throwaway electronics did away with other than return-to-manufacturer servicing, and they dried up.
