I'm in the process of scrapping out a piece of military equipment
that dates back to 1946. Its full of WE transformers and chokes of
all sorts. Including audio and power. No, its not a mic mixer, audio
amp or similar piece of gear.

I've heard in the past tube audio guys go gaga over anything WE.
Is that true or is it just a very few things? I'll be saving them no
matter what but would like to know if they belong somewhere
safe rather than in the olde junk box.

Excuse my ignornace as I'm not an audiophile. TIA
Steve

Just key in Western Electric on eBay, then look at the sold items, and you'll get an idea of the particular values.

Of course I tried this. Page after page of unrelated items.
Ebay and the 'net don't always provide answers. Sometimes
its best to hear directly from people and that is what I'm
hoping for. Maybe this is the wrong forum.

PM me photos showing the part numbers, I'll probably be able to help you.

While this subject is pending, I'll add an inquiry. Long ago I extracted a couple WE devices from a chassis found at curbside. One is labeled "Output transformer KS-8858" and the other just "SP-1007," although it looks like a transformer of some description too.

I understand that the "KS" prefix means "Kearny specification," or an outsourced product. But what were these intended for?
