Hi-

I picked up a Packard Bell console stereo at an estate sale today. Everything seems to be working great, but inside the unit there’s a small light that’s out. The unit is model number RPC-31. Anybody have any idea what kind of bulb the unit would take? It’s a little bulb with 2 metal prints sticking out of the bottom. I tried to upload a picture but the file is too big.

Thanks!

It's a Leecraft neon indicator.
Specifications should be marked on the side.

I'm sorry, I wasn't specific enough in my first post. The bulb is near the turntable, it looks like a light that would help the user see the turntable better when changing records. The bulb is not on the pre amp, its all the way on the left side of the console near the top opening. I put a picture of the bulb and the place it came from below.

Probably this one if yours is 6.3V. They used these in some RCA consoles in the early '60's.

You can get a pack of ten for $5.00 +3.50 standard shipping via this (ebay) link below, or take Dennis' advice and change it to a fully insulated bayonet socket using the more common #47
