Again, this is a long shot…

I bought a bunch of these from a vendor at a hamfest (perhaps the Indianapolis hamfest) a number of years ago.

I'm trying to stuff a cap box in a Zenith 2037 chassis which held two 8 uf 500V electrolytics. I would rather NOT use electrolytics.

I found these ASC capacitors fit the bill. If I pile 12 of them with 6 X 6 side by side, they JUST FIT! This gives me two 8.4 uf @ 600V caps!

I need some more, would anyone happen to have a bunch? I could use 20 at a minimum.

They measure 12mm X 24mm X 33mm in size. ( 0.472 inch X 0.994 inch X 1.299 inch)

Can anyone help me find some?

I tried ASC's website, but no dice...

-Steve

What's the ripple current rating on those film caps?

Different caps are meant to perform different functions, for a reason.

These may be of interest:

6 would give you two 9.9uF caps for $42, however 15mm may be to thick for your application.

Oh, those would be great! But a bit too pricey. Still, I'll consider it.

Leigh, the closest cap I find on ASC's website has similar hight and width, but slightly more length (which kills the application) and is rated at 2.7 amps.

Quite a bit better than any of the Asian grade electrolytic caps most people are using as filters in these old radios.
These are overkill, I admit.

Those are 400 VDC rated, not 600.

Also the ones Eddy posted have 2 pcs in the title, but say 1 pc in the description.

I don't know which to trust, and comes straight from China.

I know you rather not use elrctrolytics but you can stuff two 22uf@250v electrolytics in series to net 11uf@500v if the extra 3uf won't hurt the circuit.

I have some cylindrical 10 uF caps @ 1KV, but is 1 3/8" x 2 1/2" too big?

Apex JR lists 3mf 600v mylar caps, mfd by Elpac. Might be worth inquiring about their dimensions.

If at all possible, I like to use film caps rather than electrolytics under 600VDC as well.

Very good luck is had with the Solen & Andrea products so far, both for restuffing and original designs.

The nice things are very long life and better heat resistance.
