I had no bites on my other post for 900 ohm 6 x 9 elliptical field coil speakers for my silvertone 7033, so am now looking to see if someone might have a whole radio they are willing to sell for parts. The 7038 would work as well. I need a knob too, so this may be the best way to go.

If you have the original speaker that is damaged, get it reconed. there are several shops that can do the vintage speakers. THe rare thing is its electro-dynamic and few of the oval speakers are. So, you could use a permanent magnet speaker and sub the FC with a resistor or choke.

I cant tell if the one in there is a 5X7 or a 6X9, can you call that out?

It is a 6x9, both by measuring and by schematic. Not only is the cone destroyed but it looks like the wires burned, so I suspect the whole thing is probably bad.

That radio is not very common so I think finding an appropriate 6X9 that has a field coil will be tough. Do you know the FC value? CAnt read it clearly on Nostalgia Air, but its probably 900 ohms. You should check that and post here. Also, you would want to save the output transformer off that one. I would send the speaker to Jackson Speaker Service, they can recone it for about $45 I think. Ron McGee is the guy there. Nice work.
Fix your header on this ad to say "WTB 6X9 field coil speaker" you might get more action. Beware some FC 6X9 speakers were made for 6V DC cars, they have the totally wrong value FC, only about 60 ohms.

Thank you. Will make those edits. It is a 900 ohm.

Is there a place where I could find what other radios use this speaker? I wouldn't mind buying another radio to get a close to original.
