I've used the 6P14P-EV OTK with great success. Now they run $12-15 each. You won't see good ones for much less than that. They'll be from old Russian stockpiles from Ukraine and other former Soviet satellites.

I have had great luck with 10BQ5s. Not too hard to find for $10 or so each. Can be run on 6.3v pleasently, though I had an over-sized filament transformer, so bumped over to DC to get it closer to 10v.

I repaired a German Stereo and use 4 8BQ5's in it. Had plenty of volume and sounded great.

What price do you consider reasonable?

With a minor socket rewire you can substitute the electrically equivalent 6GK6, 8 bucks each at ABCvacuumtubes.

If you want to be a little more adventurous try the 6HB6 for only 3 bucks each. It's similar to a 6BQ5 but with twice the gm (takes rebiasing).

I've used both in my '6BQ5' type amp designs.

Same people in Orlando, just a different name. And, the same price.

The guys [Stan] in Orlando don't test the tubes before they go out, so check them.

6-8 years ago, I purchased a lot of soviet 6BQ5 type tubes from this seller. some were the ruggedized versions.

they were/are fantastic tubes.

check out what he has in the line of soviet 6BQ5 equivalents.

Ouch! $6-8.00 for good ones I right. I have some, and at least that's what I would get for 'em. Not for sale now.

most push pull amps should use matched pairs. you need them to bias the same. this is not the same as showing the same number on a tube tester. if tubes are from the same production lot that increases the odds you will find some that match acceptably.
