I was the first to make a purchase. Did not need them , thought I would help seller out.

I received nothing. Sent Cash as he Requested. I even over payed as again I thought I was helping the guy out.
Contacted him again 8 days ago. At that time He told me they are on the way.
Nothing.
Now He has withdrawn his PM link.

I have been told by others that purchased , Caps not received also
The one person that did get some said they were NOT Spraque Caps as advertised and was trying to get a settlement when Seller has now closed all his posts he had in Classified Section.

I have sent him an e-mail and PM with NO Response.
A fellow member tells me the Seller has quit the Forum

I am unlocking the topic, but please keep any comments strictly relating to problems you've with this seller in the classifieds. If it goes off topic, the thread will probably end up being removed.

Bob, you aren't the only member who was scammed by this individual. He is now permanently banned from the forums. Anybody who lost money and who has his physical address and phone number should look into turning him in to authorities for an internet scam.

I did check QRZ and there are many complaints about this guy, KC8YOQ. Saw one fellow got taken for $400. The guy does not have a good record and sadly he is also I ham. I'd keep an eye out for him on other forums. FYI

I was about to send him $80 but not now. Thanks for the heads up Bob.

My loss was only $10.

I sent Ernie $35.00 cash but did receive my order of 110pcs. Mind you they weren't all Sprague as advertised and the capacitor in the pictures isn't a Sprague. I received 29% Sprague and the remainder are John E Fast. The picture in Ernie's ad was the Fast cap.

Ernie tried selling a Zenith 1000d on the classifieds claiming the radio was in perfect condition.
I pointed out an earlier thread mentioning the same radio, which he complained the main
tuning knob was too difficult to turn. It appears my comment jinxed the deal and probably
saved an honest forum member about $200. Moderators thought it best to delete my post.

I also pressed Ernie several times via PM to post a crisp closeup photo of the capacitors he was selling. He replied:

Thankfully, I wasn't burned. Hopefully those forum members who did are able to recover their funds.

Yes, and he was also a ham...double blow. However, I've bought from this site and others and never had a problem. So, putting things in perspective, this guy has been flushed out...although a bit late. 99.9 percent are probably honest. I try to believe in the best.

I think there was something about removing post counts at one time. Another Reason why they should stay

Unfortunately, there have been other scammers on this board from time to time as well.

I would recommend, and this is regardless of how little one may have lost, to contact the police department in Ernie's hometown, and ask them if they wouldn't mind paying him a visit, and apprising him of the penalty for mail fraud. After all, if you sent him money through the postal system, that's exactly what it is.

I've done the above method with two eBay sellers to whom I had sent checks and who wouldn't send me the goods, but responded real quickly with the radios after I had complained to the cops.
