Well the first day of February was good to me. Ladies from the stock room stopped by my work area on the way to the scrap bin. Give me first pick. I buy them coffee in the morning from the break truck.

February 2nd find.

eBay purchase.. I paid $51.00 for it but it is rare and it will be a keeper so I splurged on this POC...
The seller did not pack the chassis so the chassis ripped the front of the cabinet out.
That adds a good amount of work for me but hey, My time is free right?

It is a Philco 101 table top combo unit.

Swap meet yesterday got me this really neat calculator, A $10.00 Catalin Addison!, and a $10.00 RCA Golden throat in really good cosmetic condition, An AE juke wall phone, a big parts bin, and a huge tonearm.

I brought home my $29 GW auction win today, GE M-61. This is a continuation of late last month's post. Here's the cabinet after a Howards and GoJo treatment.

Picked up a USB data acquisition controller from DATAQ (https://www.dataq.com/products/di-1100/)

I've got a customer who reports that, after several hours playing, his stereo begins to intermittently cut out in one channel. Pretty much impossible to diagnose to any degree with such a long cycle time. With this, I'll be able to just hook it all up and leave it playing overnight and see if there's any glitches.

For $59, we'll see how it does!

I recently acquired this 1939 RCA Victrola "attachment" model R-100. This very small bakelite phono must be connected to a radio to hear it and this one was set-up for chassis screw terminals. I believe this model was designed by noted period designer John Vassos. Having recently acquired a similar period deco Silvertone phono, I just had to have one of these very streamline-modern "teardrop" models made by RCA and GE. This one needed plenty of TLC and after a new power cord, grommets, various wires, tone-arm bushings, platter re-flocking, polishing, and a new decal it's back in shape once again. After a little grease/oil, the syncro motor runs fine and the floating rubber mounts are still pliable. The old crystal cartridge, naturally, is shot, and it will soon have a ceramic one.

Thanks Chuck. I like knowing I saved this one from the dumpster. It looked pretty sad when I got it and I wasn't even sure I could fix it up. The trickiest part was the tone-arm bushings. I made them from wooden dowels and glued plastic end cap for a finished look. It really polished-up like a new penny!
PS - Many thanks to Radio Daze for the new "RCA Victrola" decal. It really finished the set off.

Took me forever to find one of these Grantlines. Solid cabinet and chassis. Guess it could use a lil' sprucin' up...

Thats a neat one I had not seen before fifties.
Reminds me of the Belmont one that is more oval...
