I received a call from our organization's president last night that one of our members, Scott Harvey, who goes by the handle primitiveradiogod was killed in a bicycle accident. He was on his way to work in the morning and was hit by a big rig, pronounced dead at the scene. This is not easy for me personally because he was a good friend and someone I worked with almost every week at the museum.

He was perhaps one of the smartest people I knew and was always able to look at any problem and know exactly how to fix it. I bet we worked on 100 radios, and other assorted electronic devices at the bench. He also had the same sort of dumb sense of humor as I do. In fact he too found the bizarre baby food jar I use as my avatar now just as hilarious looking as I do, which is why I use it here.

My heart goes out to his many friends and family. He will be missed.

Thank you Scott

Very sorry to hear. Scott was always interested in the more unusual items I used to bring down to the swap meets.

This is a big shock and very sad news to hear. I'm at a loss for words. I at least hope and pray that he didn't suffer.

Very sad news...Just recently I read a post by Scott in the addiction thread and I thought that has to be the best most insightful post I have ever read on this site in a long while. Scott also ran techpreservation.com... This a great loss to the hobby and this site and I wish to express my sincere condolences to his family. RIP Scott you were definitely one of the good ones

I am very sorry to hear that. My condolences to you and his family.

These situations, being so abrupt and unexpected, are very upsetting.

A long time friend of mine from work was killed last October in a truck/motorcycle accident. I was just thinking about him even yesterday and again now. It's often hard to believe they are really gone when this sort of thing happens.

Oh that's just awful beyond comprehension. I am so sorry. We have to take care of ourselves; its hard to conceive how valuable we are to others.

My condolences to his family as well, this is a terrible thing to hear.

Hopefully someone can preserve his website, which has been a valuable contribution to the antique radio community.

Meaningful word are out of reach on this. Thank you for getting past your grief and posting this. Sad to hear this, but it serves as a reminder to get my house in order.

What a terrible thing to hear. My condolences to all his family and friends. Why is it that the first 2 months of a new year always seem to bring bad news? Two of my fellow coworkers lost one of their parents, another a cousin and my wife has her third heart attack. Can we just skip these and go right to March?

This is awful news,I did not know him very well, only talked to him at a meet once but he seemed like a good man and pretty darn smart too.

He will be missed and my condolences to his family.

Phil

I am sad to hear this news.
Scott's posts and and responses were always interesting and insightful.
The forum will be a lesser place without his contributions.
