The summer Vintage Electronics Expo (aka "Extravaganza") is coming July 12-14 in Kalamazoo, Mi. This is the only all-indoors multi-day vintage electronics show in the USA ! Hosted by the Michigan Antique Radio Club. This event has been running since 1985 and was in Lansing Mich for 25 years. Now, its all indoors and better than ever !
Basic Highlights:
THURS: Dealer load in starts 4pm no selling.
Seminar at 7pm on Record Changer and Turntable repair by past MARC Prez, John Reinicke.
FRI: Flea Market opens Fri morning July 13, 8 am, Doors close 6:45pm (most dealers closed by 4pm)
Main auction check in 10am
Contest Check in 10 am (Fisher and HH Scott are the featured brands)
Seminar on wood cabinet restoration by Craig Cianciolo (this was so popular its a repeat of last year!) This guy is GOOD !
2pm Live main Auction
2pm-6pm Contest viewing
7:30pm "President's Reception" cash bar at the Four Points hotel nearby. Lots of fun, awards given out.
SAT:8am-3pm Flea Market
9:30-11am seminar by Mark Oppat on Speaker repair.
10:30-11:30 Silent auction #1 bidding
Noon- attempt to set Guinness World Record... most number of record players playing same song simultaneously ! Bring your working record player. We will be playing the Beatles "Hey Jude" (and maybe others) for a world record (none exists currently). Should be a great event for Facebook and Snapchat.
12:30-1:30pm Silent Auction #2
3pm Bargain Auction

Sellers, you cant beat this venue. EASY load-in, AC power everywhere, great lighting, smooth floors, clean restrooms, food service open whole show. General admission just $5 per day if you just want to go to the flea market ! Nearby this show is the famed "Gilmore Car Museum". I hear its fantastic. Gilmorecarmuseum.org has info.
Roadtrip ! Gas prices still cheaper than ever (adjusted for inflation). Great Michigan events and sites to see ( the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn (2 hrs east of this show). Oh, and no snow in July !
