I saved an old tv from the dump. It is a Sentinel Television model 431-cv. Made by Sentinel Radio Corp. If any one could let me know what i have found becasue I can't find anything yet on this model. I guess the biggest question would be should it continue it's journey to the dump?

Thanks
Larry

Appears to be in Sams 124 which I do not have, If the CRT is usable it may be worth the effort.

Well, just watched part of a youtube viedo restoring a model 430. He said that they were rare but I don't have the time or equip. or money to work on it. This (431) is in a cabinet with doors and most everything else , 15inch rect. screen, tube layout looks the same. Looks like it is going to the dump. I am going to look around for a little while till the wife insists it goes! Thanks

Mac

So, why are you posting? Are you trying to get a rise out of collectors who like this type of equipment?

If you were just going to the dump, go!

If you don't intend to fix it you can post in the classifieds here. I want to find a old TV to redo and I guess others do as well. You may want to also post where you are, someone may be close to you.

He likely saw my videos on restoring a Sentinel 430.

The 431 is a pretty nice looking set too as shown here in the original sales brochure. http://www.tvhistory.tv/1951-Sentinel-Brochure.jpg
I hope it didn't end up in the dump :(

I normally don't even take notice of the mass-produced TV's made after '50, but your set is a beauty bandersen!
I can picture it in a chic modern living-room of the time with Heywood-Wakefield furniture!

If I had a way of getting it, I'd love to have it.

Thanks I love it too. It's made from Korina wood according to the brochure.
I purchased it just a couple miles from where it was manufactured in Evanston, IL. It had spent it's whole life in the living room of a woman who actually worked at the Sentinel plant.

Interesting! Back in about '83 I bought a mint '53 Crosley console TV that was still being used in the old womans living room! She insisted on going over the back of the set with a rag to remove the dust before I took it!
BTW I have enjoyed your YouTube videos very much. Interesting and informative.
Joe
