Five minutes with a B&K analyser will isolate that. Every one l have seen has been at a radio club auction for less than five dollars. Craig

Following this thread ... I assume you mean the B&K 1077B?
I have several, along with a B&K 415 and a Sencore VA62 but don't feel
confident with their use.
Is there a good tutorial on how to use one of these analyzing these old Zenith Porthole TVs?

There’s a good book about using the TV Analyst:

Television Analyzing Simplified, by Milton S. Kiver

Out of print, but available in used book channels.

I've muddled along with my TV restorations with just my Tube Tester, Ohmmeter for wholesale testing of Resistor values and testing of coils, and very careful wholesale recap of Capacitors. Basically brute use of elementary Electronics background. respect for HV and radiation cautions, along with help from this forum from more experienced folks.
Always wished I had knowledge and experience with a B&K 1077 analyst along with how to align the IFs in these old TVs. Tried to pick up this knowledge by reading books but the effort was more than I was able to invest. I think when this generation of TV service folks pass on, this knowledge will be exceedingly rare and lost art.
