Although not really antique (my wife bought this B&W portable TV new in 1976), I'm in need of a schematic for it, or a lead on where to find one.

As the title says, it is a Zenith Model Y120Y, Chassis 12YB1X (I assume the chassis number indicates a 12" CRT). Google & Sam's searches turned up nothing. Maybe Zenith put out some service info on it at some point ..?

- Thanks :)

Not listed in Sams so you may have to find an OEM manual.
Also I think its a 1983. See chassis #
12 = 12"
Y = model year Y = 1983
B - B&W
There is listed a 12YB3X & a 12YB4X. They probably are near identical & are
the right age.

BTW whats wrong with the set ? Very few broke & usually they just ran forever.

I'm actually guessing on the model number as the paper tag on the back is missing. I searched online for a TV that looked similar and the model number was taken from that. I know the set is from the mid 70s because I was there when it was purchased :). It's been amazingly reliable and has been in use virtually every day since purchased.

The TV is actually still working (it has never been opened since new) but the power switch is failing. It does have some vertical foldover so I assume it needs new electrolytics. There is also some kind of intermittent that causes the screen to dim every once in a while but a light tap on the cabinet always restores full brightness.

I could probably fix the set without the schematic but I'd prefer to have it handy before I dive in.

Only one new electro, the bootstrap cap in the vertical output stage.
