I bought this red RCA TV a few weeks ago at the CC-AWA winter swap meet.
I discovered it was missing the fine tuning knob and on the telescopic antennas
is also missing.
If anyone in the group happens to have a correct fine tuning knob and one
of the telescopic antennas and the antenna mount I would love to get them
for this set.
It was very dirty when I first got it, but a little use of the Treatment and some
plastic polish and it looks much better.

Below are some photos showing the set before and after cleaning and
the knobs and antennas.
I got a red fine tuning knob from a TV collector but it turned out to be the
wrong one, it does not go deep enough to reach the fine tuning mech.
If anyone knows that this knob will work on a set they have I'll gladly trade
it for the correct knob.

Thanks for your help.

I was the guy who sent you the knob, it came off a set exactly like that except it didn’t have UHF, I don’t know if that makes a difference or not.

A second possibility is the set is missing a part, there is supposed to be a black plastic adapter on the tuner that connects the knob to the fine tuning shaft, I’ve seen those broken or missing before.

Thanks Eric for sending me the knob,I really hate it didn't work.
Maybe someone here that has the same set can post photos of their
knob and the shaft that it connects to.

Thanks again very much.

I’ve got a bunch of those sets, none with UHF but that may not
Matter, I can post a picture of the tuner shaft later this evening.

Okay, here it is.

The black part is what I think you may be missing. I lucked out on this one and it came off with the knob so I could get a good picture.

It's not supposed to come off the tuner, there's supposed to be a small circular retaining ring holding it on, obviously this set is missing that ring.

I don't think I have any of the black spacers but I'll look around.

Bear in mind that anything to do with the knobs is safety-related.
You need to be pretty certain that a human cannot touch any internal metal parts if a knob is pulled off.
The internals are live and can kill you if the TV is on..

That is probably the purpose of those extra plastic pieces. Don't even think about turning one up on a lathe out of brass.....
