Hi to the forum. I found a guy to restring and recap my Ross clock radio. It plays fine now except for a small "Hissing static" sound mostly at the lower end of the volume range. The sound is present if I am not on a station, it is there all the time. Strangely, when I attempt to use the "tone" knob, the volume increases as if is is the volume knob! So it's like I have 2 volume knobs. I have very limited experience as I made an SSTRAN kit in 2015 and that is my claim to fame. Is it possible that the "tone" knob is the cause of the static sound and if so can I disable it somehow so the sound quality is better? I have all of the parts that were changed and they all appear to be caps. I can live with it but it would be cool to have it fixed too. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Tim
