Do any of you Transistor experts (quite a few here, I've been a long time lurker-nice collections BTW) know what size or other Radio Swing handle would work on a Sony TR 86? I also need the same for a RCA 1-T-IE. Thank You very much! Chris

Chris, I can't help you with the SonyTR-86 (don't have one), but I can with the RCA Victor. See below (measurements to the outside edge of the wire, not the center):

I've got an RCA T-1-EN with the same handle, and a Sony TR 86. The measurements given in the above posts are exact.

You can make handles for them with a brass colored metal coathanger. Or procure some welding rod of the correct diameter for each. Easier and cheaper than trying to locate other radios with similar handle/stands.

Dial Knob/Radio Tech/Fifties...Thank you all so much for the info. I Knew you would all know. I'm getting out some packed radios and trying to get back into it....ie finishing projects etc. Not as much as I was in the 90's, but the unpacking/cleaning is fun. Also as I stated on my WTB ad, I really need those Philco T-7 126 white wings. Do you think they could be made?

Making those specific parts would require some ingenuity to get them to look just right; tall order.

In that situation, I think simply keeping an eye at eBay for another Philco T-7 would be your best bet, or changing your WTB ad here for a complete set. Many times it takes two examples to make one "good one". I'm not sure what the market now is for them. I had one, recapped and sold it maybe 10 years ago for 50 bucks (about what I paid for it).

fifties, Thanks, that's what I thought. I guess the search for the whole set is the best way to go. Many thanks, Chris
