Another knockout, Peter :D

Thanks Dave... though I do enjoy the planing and initial color choice discussions and steering the completed radio into it's final form.
.. I cannot however take any credit for the actual painting techniques and skill Ken uses.
.. I can only take full credit for the selection of the radios we use, the initial color pallets... and of course all the chassis restorations and electronics are mine alone... along with all the photography, graphics and text presentation.

During your restoration of the Radiola, did you run into IF can problems with silver migration? If so, did you replace with ceramic disc caps or silver mica, and was there enough room to place them internally? I think I see silver mica caps above the IF lugs in your chassis photos.

Yes I did run into IF can problems
and yes I replaced them with silver mica caps
no.. there wasn't room & yes you do see them there..
You can read more about the restoration and IF can headaches here:

That radio is so beautiful, it should be the centerfold in Giving Birth magazine.

Very nice Radiola. BTW my mother always called that original color "mashed-worm green."

Thank you very much guys for the compliments.
.... and for somehow re-kicking this thread.. which was from over 3 years ago already now... way back in June 2009.

I think Peter should get some kind of award. Just as there is a Rock 'n Roll hall of fame, so too should there be an Antique Radio hall of fame. The 61-9 should be on a pedestal under glass for all to see and enjoy. Such a pity some treasures go uncelebrated.
