HI ALL: Am about to work on this Emerson 543 set. I think that is the correct model number after looking at Slusser and Radia Attic Archives (No Model ID on the cabinet or chassis), but I may be mistaken. Have Sams (ch. 120046) and Riders (ch. 120052 & 120046) data which are listed for model 543. The tube complement on my set is: 35Z5; 50L6; 12SA7; 12SQ7; and 14A7. Neither the Sams nor the Riders lists the 14A7 tube. Riders (ch. 120052) lists a comparable tube component but with a 12SK7 instead of the 14A7 tube. The 14A7 configuration is original, based upon a tube layout label on the radio back (but no model/chassis), and chassis observation. Am I mistaken in concluding that this is a model 543? If so, can anyone identify this model number? BOB

14A7 is a loctal equivalent to 12SK7, octal. Manufacturers used either tube depending on what was available. Only the socket and tube type will be different. Rest of the circuit should be the same. You can find tube basing here:
