Gentlemen: I am continuing to work on a Scott 15 missing its speaker for a friend. I have obtained a speaker for the Laureate and need help altering it. The main question at the moment is whether the transformer for the Lareate which handles two 6L6s will have similar enough characteristics to the one for the 15 which uses two 2A3s?? The load for various outputs on the 2AS is between 2500 and 3500 ohms and for the 6L6, shows from 2500 to 5000 ohms depending on output. (I will take the liberty post a query about making the field coil resistances match later.)
Many thanks
Allan
------------------
Should be close enough - the 6L6 wants about 6K for push-pull, the 2A3s about 5K, depending on the voltage used. If you don't need every last milliwatt, I wouldn't worry about it.
------------------
