This is why I love this hobby, completed the restoration of this radio, played beautifully on the bench. I was using the power cord on the radio but intended to replace it so I did and added a fuse. Also re-replaced the dial string. Now to put it all back in the cabinet, put it all together did not work, the tubes lit up and the pilot light was on. Pulled it back out, checked all the voltages, re-tested all the tubes checked all the resistors, checked all solder joints, nothing. After a few hours of frustration, I found that the phono/radio switch on the back of the radio was dirty, sprayed cleaner and problem solved. Sometimes we look too hard................It is a beautiful radio, I'm going to keep this one for awhile.
