The lettering around the knobs has discolored, but I have to think that there must be some way of bringing the original coloring back to life. Any ideas fellas...?

At first glimpse, I would say probably not.
The pigment in the decal has deteriorated. And there may be a coat of lacquer over the decal as well.
All in all, they are not in too bad of condition.

Thats part of the patina, the old look, why would you want to change that? They look fine.

I would leave it too, yet I might try a little Goop cleaner to see if a simple and light cleaning might help. You might be surprised at how well Goop cleans Without damaging the finish or decals.

I did clean the cabinet with Goop, and it did a good job of cleaning things up. However, it didn't fix the lettering issue.

Just in case you're curious, the discoloration of the decal is the gold colored metal flake tarnishing. Usually the matal flake is brass that will sometimes show up green as it oxidizes with age.

It looks great, shows the age of the radio without being messed up. I certainly wouldn't do anything other that clean the exterior. Those labels look great!
