HEATH-KIT TUBE CHECKER MODEL IT 17 how do these stack up? I need a tube tester so any feedback on the ones to buy and what to pay would be great

I'm happy with the one I own. It tests more tubes than my other testers. (with the extended charts.)

Mine works well after I cleaned the residue from some previous owner's cola drink out of the test switch. Replacing the return spring cost me two ball-point pens.
It will test the older tubes, but it is only an emissions tester.
But that is usually all you need.
Checking the resistors for correct value may eliminate false leakage indications.
