Hello all,
I have a TC-2 tube tester.
The tube test settings roller paper is "broke".
I have the original manual.
I hate to chunk it, but I don't need another tester.

Are there people interested in restoring these ?
If it has some worth, I would sell very cheaply.

(This isn't a for sale ad, just need some advice on listing it or not)

Thanks,
Hotwax

Sure, people are interested in TC-2s. I use one as a back up.They use a typical simple circuit to test the tubes that is easy to re-store. Most Heathkit equipment is easy to work on since they were offered in kit form. It can test tubes with 4, 5 and 6 pins that my B&K tester can't.
The paper roll is held to the wood rollers with tape at the ends. The tape ages and dries out, needs to be replaced. It is a little tricky because the slack in the paper changes as it is moved along.

Since they usually sell for around $100 I would just offer it here on the classified for maybe $50 or so, better than Chunking it. You can buy a repro roll chart for $30.

Thank you Tim and Lou for the informative responses.
I am glad it will still be of value to someone.
Best,
