Someone recently mentioned calibrating a signal generator and I have one I just got which will probably need calibration.

Its a Radio City Products 705, and I will be recapping it. The scale has several markings in pencil correcting the scale.

I have an Icom 706G, and I assume that calibrating the signal generator involves connecting it to such a precision digital readout receiver and aligning the slugs accordingly. Is this correct? How should I connect the two together? Straight through from the generator's low connector straight in to the radio's antenna connector?

Advise on this is greatly appreciated

Yes, but no need to connect the two. Just dangle a lead a foot long out of the generator and your Icom can hear it from across the room!
