This Califone model 1925 had a broken stylus. I replaced it with the correct replacement but it doesn't track properly. I'm not even sure if it has the original cartridge. It has obviously been tampered with over the years. I'm not even sure what the tone arm weight should be or how to adjust it if it's even adjustable.

I would like to replace the entire cartridge. It has standard 1/2" mounting with four (4) wires connected to it. Is there a replacement cartridge that I could install?

EDIT: It currently has an Astatic 1199-d cartridge installed.

Johnny

Please post photos of the cartridge.

It may be a tetrad style ceramic.
If so, replacements are available from
different suppliers.

Thank you! Very helpful. I ordered an EV5632-Hlf-DS73 from V-M Audio that has a voltage output rating of .5 volts. It should work fine. Upon further inspection the cartridge that's in this tone arm is cracked. Explains the poor tracking.

Thanks again.
