I have a 920-PF Stromberg-Carson from 1942. No turntable and am trying to get a Garrard 42-M to work with it. Radio works but cannot get sound from turntable. Suspect I have it connected incorrectly?
Help would be appreciated

Couple ideas---Plug an RCA cable into the phono jack on the amp, and put the selector on phono. Turn the volume up and see if you get any good hum from touching the tip of the plug. If you get hum when touching the tip the amp is OK, if no hum, there's problem in the wiring to the phono input.. Do you have a ceramic or crystal cartridge in the Garrard phono? If it's a magnetic cartridge, it's too weak on output and needs an additional pre-amp to boost the signal. If it's a ceramic cartridge, touch the leads from the cartridge with a screwdriver...if you get hum from that but nothing from rubbing the needle, your cartridge is shot.
