I've searched and read extensively through past forum threads but I'm afraid I'm still stumped and need to ask for help.
I've got a clean and freshly-lubed motor that runs at proper speed, but still get a lot of wow and flutter on the turntable from a cold (not literally cold) start that only disappears when I push the motor/turret assembly up a hair to two off its motor mounts (all three ordered by part number from voiceofmusic).
I've degreased, degreased, and degreased again all turrets, the idler, and inner and outer turntable rim. The turrets and idler are running dry right now to rule out oil leakage.
Any idea why it would play properly only when held up off its mounts but not when it and the turntable are sitting in upon their proper mounts/washers?

Welcome to the phono forum.
When the system allows you to, please post some clear photos of the motor/motor mounting assembly.
1. Were all the spacers re-installed correctly in the motor mount assembly ? 2. Are all the turrets snapped onto their shafts ? 3. Do you have the service diagrams/sheets for the RP205 ?

It's a G.I. motor assembly. I neglected to point that out above.
Thanks for the quick reply!
Here's mine before I retire for the night:
1) Everything is back together as far as I can tell--though I'm considering just removing the whole assembly again to clean and inspect anyway as I've currently no idea what else to do.
2) Yes, all turrets are snapped on.
3) And I do have the "PhotoFact Folder" for the 205 and I don't see any unaccounted for washers, spacers, etc.

Depending on how the motor mounts are laid out this may work--- Try adding another washer, or cut a grommet in half and use that on top of the original one on the motor mounts. That should raise the motor a little. Not a proper fix, but worth a try.

Tbirdkid, I thought about that. Tried it as an experiment but still didn't work.
**** I think I discovered the problem: The idler wheel assembly isn't level.
The wheel itself seems fine, but the arm it sits on positions it at a slight angle leaning toward the turrets. (I tried taking photos, but the angle is so slight that it's hard to illustrate clearly.)
I can't imagine how the arm got bent in the first place but I have to believe this slight angle is the cause of the slowness and wobble. Me pushing the motor assembly up probably just changed the angle enough to hit the turntable a bit more square.
I guess I could try to bend it back into square but I think I'll just contact VM.com and inquire about a replacement.
Fingers-crossed that this will finally fix it!
