I have an old Simpson 260 Series 5 Meter that has given me excellent service. I left the batteries in too long and they leaked and badly damaged the battery connectors. I tried cleaning them but really do need new battery contacts.
Can anyone tell me where I can order them?

Simpson might still have them for the 5. They still make a series 8 (I believe).

You might consider soldering short stranded wires to the D cell and to the old connector. A bit of a nuisance when changing the cell, but it eliminates poor contacts.

Noel,
It's best to buy or fabricate some new contacts (they're not rocket-science)....but
I may have the correct contacts from some old "parts" Simpson VOM's. Do your contacts match the ones on the 260-5, or the 260-5M, or the 260-5P, as shown in the pictures on Paul's website http://www.simpson260.com ? And exactly which contacts would you need?..the two on the D-cell, or the various styles (shown in the website pictures) on the four AA cells (or the one 15V Burgess K10 battery if it's a model 5P).

If they are the battery contacts that have the wires soldered to them, I have a few new spares, and Simpson still makes them.

If they are the "R" shaped clip that goes between AA cells at the corners, Simpson discontinued them, and my suppliers do not have any left, so Good Luck!

Contact Instrument Meter Specialties, and talk to Jason.

Multimeter.com
661-952-3941

They have been my source for several years. as stated before, the R shaped corner AA contacts are out of production, but the other terminals are not hard to get, and fairly inexpensive.
