I will tell you I just received an Emerson cathedral radio in a little worse condition recently (whole side broken out) it was shipped through UPS instead of USPS I honestly think it's these irresponsible people selling the radio's and their cheap packaging. Anyways yours turned out GREAT!!!!

Thanks and I agree the seller stuck it in a box with a single sheet of bubble wrap.I have a friend who retired from the post office who said he was so fed up with the new guys. His generation was proud of their work, the new guys just look at it as a means to get paid and just toss stuff around to get the job done.

Your right about the postal workers I am a younger guy and I am a retired postal worker cause after my last tour in Iraq I came home kinda busted up. But they were real bad where I worked about just tossing things around. I have started letting anyone that I purchase a radio from know to package it GOOD just for that reason and I have had 2 radio's that I have had to rebuild the cabinet on because they don't listen. It makes a person very angry with all that extra work but that one you did looks really good someday I'll try my hand at a bakelite radio.

Thanks!!! I have not read that book but generally speaking it seems like the books are usually more factual and movies are so far off it's ridiculous. There is a book you might like it's called "My war: Killing time in Iraq" it's by Colby Buzzel and if you want a movie that's the sad truth about what happens after we come home check out "Home of the brave" it has Samuel L. Jackson in it and is the most realistic war movie I've ever seen.

Thanks to mythbusters, I now use Shockwatch detectors. If i buy from someone, I send them one to put on the box. Its a twofold blessing.
1. it puts the responsibility on the seller to package it correctly. 2. when the shipper sees the sticker, he treats it like a newborn baby. Only bad thing is they are $115 for a roll of 50 stickers. but well worth it.
they have saved me from frauds many times. sellers who are trying to sell you a broken set quickly back out of the deal when I mention the stickers (I should tell the story some day)
