Hello, I recently purchased a home and in the basement was a GE 802 television/radio combo set. I found out that it was made in 1947. Does anyone know where I could get this restored and what the value would be after completion

No......where are you? Working or not, you won't get rich from its sale. Neat set, though. CRAIG

You could try contacting an area radio/tv collector club and asking for a repairman recommendation. Here's a list of clubs:

Unless you find someone who works for 50 cents an hour, the cost of restoration might exceed the resale value. Fully restoring a 1940s TV takes a lot of time. The size and weight of "combo" sets like that also limits your market to local buyers, and not everyone has room for such a big item.

I'll echo the fact that you'll not be getting rich on this set, maybe a few hundred dollars. You could keep it and enjoy an amazing set and a piece of history.

Agree that it would probably only be worth a few hundred at the most after restoration, and if you had to pay for a professional electrical restoration of the unit, it would likely cost far more than the set is worth.
Then when you did go to sell it, the prospective buyer would need to be close enough to drive there and pick it up in person. Shipping a set of that size would be totally cost prohibitive, and you would have to custom build a crate to ship it in.

I have the GE Model 801, looks very similar except it is the TV/Radio combo. Cabinet on mine is not bad at all and it even half-a$$ works.
