Trying to get this Zenith T 274 alignment done. Have the AM section all done and it came out very nice. FM is the problem. Have the generator set at 10.7 Mc. When i hook up to pin1 of the 12AU6 all I get is a bunch of static coming out of the speaker. If switch over to modulated I get a tone and can set the IF to the highest meter reading. When I go to pin 1 of the 12BA6 all i get is static and cannot set the IF can at all. In the modulated or unmodulated position. I don,t even have to connect here .If I just come close to any of the IF cans it cause all kinds of static. Does this make any sense? Also where should the dial be set to for FM. Just off station? It it that much more difficult to align FM or is it me? Stan Ski

Picky Picky. Give an old man a break. I think my brain needs aligning. Had to go look at the cabinet to be sure it is a T 724 . Was thinking i wonder if i could have a bad IF? The radio does operate on FM but not that great. Reception is OK but the sound quality is not good. I have recapped it and all the other stuff. The FM sound quality has not gotten any better with these changes. .I have another one of these radios different model but the same radio and it sound a lot better then this one and it has not been touched electronically.
