Unable to use dial on shortwave band; seems like knob is not connected to frequency dial; I don't have a Manual to refer too; Any help ?? Bernie,C.

...the 11-band SW turret tuner? (I have one of these) Sounds like the dial cord needs to be restrung (either broken or has come off a pulley somewhere--or possibly one of the pulleys has broken off; one or two of them are on pegs on the plastic subchassis under the dial and those pegs can break off). As German radio dial cords go, it's relatively simple but still a little challenging to restring...

...btw, this really belongs under Transistor Radios...

Thanks for your response. Sounds good, but I'm a novice when it comes to figuring out pully systems without a diagram. Any chance of a picture of what I would be looking for? Thanks.

Don't know if this is your "Globetraveller IV" but it is my Globetrotter 7/601!
I don't seem to have a pic of the SW band stringing - must be somewhere..... :)

...note that it differs significantly from majoco's 7/601 (this model is designated '0.101E'; it's three years newer and significantly redesigned)...
