Knoxville TN Radio Swap Meet - 5/12/18

A radio swap meet will be held in Knoxville, Tennessee on May 12, 2018. Details and registration are found here: https://sites.google.com/site/tnvalleyvrc/.

Please help spread the word. We are trying to re-establish an annual swap meet for eastern TN & nearby areas.

Same weekend at Kutztown :-/

If I can't make it to Kutztown this year then I would be very interested in Knoxville. I may even make a weekend trip out of it and camp in the Smokies for a couple of nights.

I would love to attend, but this is the same day as the Spring meet in Kutztown. Shame it couldn't be a week one way or the other. Big conflict for several of us.

If you’re NOT going to Kutztown, why not attend this swap meet in Knoxville TN on Saturday May 12! They’re trying to start a new club and we all know that takes some interest and participation.

Knoxville in only 4ish hours away from me... but I will be on a camping/fishing trip the weekend of May 12th in Indiana

If the club hasn't done so already, they should created a Facebook page to promote their events and advertise on several of the highly active radio groups on there.

I will print out some flyers for the Knoxville meet and will hand them out at the Mid-South Antique Radio Collectors swap meet in Louisville this month.

Just 2 days away... If your Kutztown plans fell through, give this swap meet a chance. Forming a new club and they sure could use your support!!

For a first swap meet, it was a good one! Attendance certainly would have been better had it not been the same weekend as Kutztown. We all had a great time! Some really nice offerings, friendly folks and a number of radios were sold. The beautiful black Zenith console you've read about in other ARF post was offered up for sale and was snarfed up in a nanosecond

Lee Gentry stopped by on his way to his daughter's graduation and took home a few nice radios with him. Kelton Trammel from the Nashville club was there loaded for bear. Rick Taylor from Chattanooga (SARS member) brought some super nice sets and a number of collectors from the Knoxville area were also in attendance with lots of nice radios. Kelton won the contest with a pair of rare Zenith 500's (one super rare yellow). We topped the swap meet off with coffee, home made cookies and discussed the planning of forming a new club in Knoxville. Wish more of you had been able to come!!

I travel through Knoxville every spring and fall on my way to the Smokies. If I have enough notice before the next meet I will try to plan my camping trips to coincide with the swap meet.
