Guys, just curious what the average age is on here. My bet is it is lower than many would think, I'll bet 45.

I definitely like hearing/learning from the senior guys on here, but I bet in general not that many are on the internet. Let's see what the poll indicates.

I suspect the demographics will indicate highly focused advertising for Hemorrhoid treatment, Prostate care, Statin drugs, and ****** (the last for those whose wives have not already left them).

And I made an assumption that responders would not trim a few years from their poll selection.

This has been done previously, and the age is quite a bit higher than you think. In order to get the exact number though, you would have had to create a poll with every individual age available rather than the 10 year groupings.

I'd bet the true number is late 50's very close to 60. Looking around at the attendees at any of the major radio shows would easily verify that.

As of now, the median age is in the 50-59 range.

FYI, (for those who don't know some statistics) the median is the number which has as many scores above it as lie below it.

Let me put it this way!! At a few days away from being 70 yro, there isn't much to do except make a few 1 tube regens or crystal sets to listen for DX and check the emails and forums. I just picked up a 1920's Crosley Tridyn from a 90 yro man who sold it on epay. He enjoyed using the internet also! I'm content with life, as it is anyway!

It was maybe 2 years ago. IIRC everyone replied to the original inquiry with their ages, and it was a few pages long.

17 currently. I own 2 classic TV's, 10 or so old transistor radios, 6 consoles dating from 1927-1947 and the rest are 30's-60's tabletops. I own a Lincoln, and 2 GMC's. Life is good. Very Happy

The old poll shows abought the same thing most over 50.
That was 3-4 years ago so it hasn`t changed that much.

Welcome to the hobby and this forum Bruce. Feel free to ask questions. I'm a believer in there are no dumb questions, maybe dumb answers, but not the questions.

31 here...

All my radios and tvs are older than I am. I've often wondered if there really is any correlation between the age of the radio collector, and what era radios he prefers. My collection currently ranges from 1930 - 1971.
