Depends on what you mean by wanting to try them. For what (and reason)?
Historically, the FETRON were the most famous (little remembered) solid state tube replacements made by Teledyne (using the J-FET, which they invented).

A FETRON, however, is NOT 'triode like'. It's 'pentode like'. Here's a Trioderizer (FETRON like modified to be triode like).
