So this is really unusual...a tube baseball radio...the individual selling it is a relative of Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Famers Paul and Lloyd Waner. Made around 1941. Any ideas? $200 too much with its provenance?

Tube baseball radios are not exactly rare.

$200 may not be too much provided the seller can give you a notarized document of its provenance AND this is something you intended to keep forever.

But that missing screen insert is probably unobtainable and that seriously hurts the value. I expect that a skilled craftsman could use an existing one to fabricate a passable replica, in which case I would put the fake one near the bottom and the original one on top.

That's what I needed to know, thanks...

50% of the remaining screen has become detached.

At least enough of it remains to get a clear idea of what it is supposed to look like. That insert is repairable.

I'll bet it won't be hard to fabricate a new screen and repair that one.
It's a nice addition to your collection and takes up minimal shelf space.

$200 is a good price. They have sold for way more than that on ebay. $570 most recently
