Without a speaker load attached to that thing (I'm sure he didn't want to set one up) that guy better be careful if he touches that broken 6L6. Wouldn't that plate be energized with DC via the output transformer connection to B+/second filter cap? YIKES.

I always love unpacking a radio and finding bits of glass in the box.

I even occasionally find bits of glass around the floor, that I didn't notice when unpacking a new radio or wheeling one into the house.
