Fantastic design, any guesses on its worth?

Yeah, one of the iconic Japanese designs. It's missing the carrying handle/kickstand. 1996 Bunis Guide value, $300-$350.

About 3 years back I found one of theses Robot radios in a box lot at our auction, complete with case. Sold it.

The Toshiba 9TM40 9 transistor radio that is currently for sale on eBay is in excellent condition as usually there are cracks on the clear plastic cover near the 2 screws. It will be interesting to see what the final price will be if the seller doesn't find the handle. - Mark

Several bidders already. Always entertaining how bidders will peck away in order to maximize the price they pay.

Pictures added to OP for posterity

Looks like a good facsimile of the handle-kickstand could be made up by bending up some plated rod.

Here's the same model with the stand and leather case, sold for $360 less than a week ago.

I only have one Toshiba right now, but they seem to have made some good substantial radios, not cheapo.

The most available source for a kickstand/carry handle for this and other Transistor verticals, is a brass colored wire clothes hanger. The only other problem would be the lack of the plastic handle that goes over it.
